Tai Chi has been practiced for general health and fitness purposes since the 16th Century.

‘Whoever practices Tai Chi regularly will in time gain the suppleness of a child, the health of a lion, and the peace of mind of a sage.’ – Old Chinese saying.

The health benefits of Tai Chi enable harmony in mind and body, improved mobility, suppleness and mental alertness.

Some of these health benefits are: Mental and physical balance can be achieved as Tai Chi creates an energy flow to the whole body. Tai Chi is fantastic for arthritis, fall prevention and it is good to avoid memory loss. Best of all Tai Chi can be practised by people of all ages and fitness levels with no harmful effects.

Tai Chi is principally a tranquil, gentle and extremely pleasurable means of attaining and maintaining health, harmony in both mind and body, mobility, suppleness and mental alertness. Join Master Graham from Tai Chi Australia (www.taichiaustralia.com.au) as he guides you through a range of simple, enjoyable exercises that will help you to relax the body and calm your mind – feeling refreshed and clear-headed.

There are no special requirements for the class. Anyone regardless of age or level of fitness can practice and benefit from Tai Chi. Just wear flat soled shoes or bare feet and loose, comfortable clothing.

NB: Due to building works at Phoenix Park Community Centre, from 2 May to 16 May, this class will be held at Malvern Valley Golf Course, Golfers Drive, Malvern East. 

From Monday 22 May, we will be back at Phoenix Park.
